Happy November, Arts-Health Month!

Arts Health Antigonish (AHA!) is celebrating November by offering a series of arts-based playshops (participatory workshops) in the community. This year, we have both in-person and online playshops, for young teens to seniors.

In-person playshops include “Protein-Packed Snacks” for teens aged 12 to 16, held in the food lab at StFX. Victoria Palmer’s ‘Soft Pastels’ for adults, will be held in both French (in Pomquet) and in English (at the Arts House); Nancy Turniawan’s ‘Design a Community with Pebbles and Shells’ is for everyone and will also be at the Arts House.

Our live virtual program is a Shen Zeng QiGong series of four sessions, with Carol Anne Landry on Tuesday evenings. Two of our Art Larks! programs will be available on AHA!’s YouTube channel throughout November: a creative movement class with Claire MacIsaac and Alisa Haugen-Strand, both professional dancers, and an Introduction to Tango with artists Odessa and Margaret Spore. Although created for our senior population engaged in our Art Larks! program, these are available this month for everyone to enjoy.

The Arts House also has an amazing line-up of classes this month. Check them out on their website or facebook pages.

Costs vary by playshop, depending on location and supplies. If cost is a barrier for you please don’t hesitate to let us know and we will do our best to make accommodations.

All our in-person playshops will require that you be healthy, masked and fully vaccinated. Due to Public Health guidelines and space restrictions, enrollment is limited, so register early!

Choose one, choose them all and join us in being creative for our health!
