Artist Workshops

By Wendell White

AHA hosted four artist workshops throughout the fall of 2013.  The overall purpose of these workshops was to identify and support existing art and health resources in our community.  They offered a multi-discipline environment for artists to share their past and present experiences and practices with arts and health and their extended activities in the larger community.  Attended by over twenty local artists and facilitated by a multi-disciplined team from the Antigonish area, these workshops provided an opportunity for cross-training, team-building and a wonderfully-unexpected sense of play.

Participants enjoyed working with a variety of mediums, including appreciative evaluation, writing, visual arts, videography, photography, music, theatre, clowning, ceramics and zines.

This incubator allowed for a variety of teams to host play workshops for the general public throughout the month of November, as part of Arts and Health Month
